Programme 2011/2

Each year the Club arranges a series of six or seven lectures between September and May. These are held at various centres within the old county of Montgomeryshire. During the summer months there are usually three one-day excursions (see below) to places of historical interest in the area. Details will be posted as they become available

All lectures are on Saturdays and commence at 3.00 pm.

8th October 2011, at The Village Hall, Llandinam: 'Some Medieval Welsh Planned Towns', by Dr Robert Anthony.

29th October 2011, at The Tabernacle, Machynlleth: 'French prisoners of war in Montgomeryshire during the Napoleonic wars' by Edward Parry.

17th March 2012, at Llanidloes Community Centre, 'The Monastic Wales Project' by Professor Janet Burton.

14th April 2012, at Montgomery Town Hall: 'Montgomery: the first hundred years', by John Davies.

12th May 2012, at The Town Hall Welshpool: 'The Peacemaker: Lord Davies of Llandinam (1880-1944)', by Dr J. Graham Jones.
