Each year the Club arranges a series of six or seven lectures between September and May. These are held at various centres within the old county of Montgomeryshire. During the summer months there are usually three one-day excursions (see below) to places of historical interest in the area. Details will be posted as they become available

May to October: Guided visits at intervals throughout the year to the historic Rhyd Chwima ford near Montgomery and associated sites.
Draft of Proposed Excursions for Summer 2010
April/May: Ford of Montgomery and associated sites carried over from 2009 because of poor weather.
Saturday 19th June: by coach to Berrington Hall south of Ludlow. The house and grounds (National Trust) have much of interest. The special feature will be, specially for Club members, an absolutely fascinating insight to life below stairs (the domestic structure unusually well preserved at Berrington).
Saturday 17th July: by coach to Llandrindod Welss, a talk and leisurely tour of the town, with a focus on its development as a 'spa', guaranteed to be illuminating and stimulating (money back guarantee if you fail to see the town in a new light! ).
Saturday 7th August: Hen Domen, Brompton Castle (near Mellington) and Montgomery Castle. Brompton is a typical vale of Montgomery motte and bailey. Dr David Stephenson our guide for the day.
Saturday 21st August (afternoon): Talgarth and The Hall House -repeat visits for those who could not make last year's visit to these two ancient and impressive private houses.
For further information and an application form please write to John Davies, Caerhowel Smithy, Montgomery, SY15 6HF with your name and address, tel.no and e mail address, with a stamped addressed envelope for each excursion.
